Support Nathan's Recovery from Lung Surgery
Donation protected
Nathan suffered a spontaneous pneumothorax (collapsed lung) on 9/4 and received life saving care in the ER to reinflate his lung before being admitted to the hospital. The cause of the collapse is believed to be due to unlucky genetics: being tall, skinny, and male. He waited as an inpatient for his lung to heal naturally, but unfortunately that did not happen. Nathan underwent a robotic-assisted thoracic surgery as well as mechanical pleurodesis on Friday 9/13 and is currently recovering from those procedures. Everything went perfect and he should make a full recovery.
At this time we are unsure when he will be able to come home or return to work. Best estimate at this time is home by 9/20 and back to work by October. Between his medical bills and time off work it will be a struggle to pay his medical debt.
In addition to this unexpected health emergency, Nathan must also undergo facial surgery to remove a tumor on his salivary gland. This is a condition that was discovered earlier this summer, but unfortunately must take a backseat while he focuses on his current recovery. This facial surgery will likely need to wait until next year, racking up even more medical bills.
We are so fortunate to have an amazing support system during his hospital stay. It has allowed us to keep our girl's lives as calm and stable as possible during this difficult time. The financial burden we are facing with these medical bills is a huge concern for us in maintaining a stable home. Any financial help we might receive would make all the difference for us to be able to come out the other side of this.
Anything helps and we are so grateful for your support!
