Hello, my name is Nathan. Over the past year, my life has changed in ways I never could have imagined. In May of last year, I developed a serious brain infection that left me with only a 50/50 chance of recovery. After four long months, I began to improve, but I still struggle with balance issues and numbness on the right side of my body. Just as I was starting to regain some hope, I was diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma cancer five months later. Now, I am preparing to begin treatments and facing a whole new set of challenges.
On top of my health struggles, both of my vehicles have had their transmissions go out in the last two years, making it even harder to get to appointments and care for my precious 4-year-old son. As a single parent, my greatest concern is making sure he is provided for and has what he needs during this difficult time. The mounting medical expenses, bills, and car repairs have left me feeling overwhelmed and out of options.
I have a full-time job and have been receiving some short-term disability, but that income is about to be reduced by 31 percent, which is unsustainable for my family. This reduction makes it even more difficult to keep up with expenses while I focus on my health and caring for my son.
I never thought I would be in a position to ask for help, but I am trusting that God can work through this community to provide support. Any help you can give—whether it’s a donation, a share, or a prayer—would mean the world to me and my son. Thank you and God bless.
