My name is Nathan Shoback and I have the opportunity to go on a short-term mission trip to Alaska in May 2026 with my school, Portage Christian School, through Thirst Missions.

During this trip, we will be doing service projects, Vacation Bible School outreach, sports ministry, and mercy ministry.

The people of Alaska have many needs, both physical and spiritual. Alaska is the most unchurched state in the United States. They experience poverty, alcoholism, abuse, and homelessness that is among the highest in the nation. We will work alongside pastors in outreach and invest in kids in need of Christian role models. Our goal is to go with servant hearts, ready to show Christ through our actions and our words, while having open minds to get to know the people of Alaska.

I know this will be a stretching and challenging experience for me, and I believe I will be blessed by the experience as I see God at work in Alaska.
