Support Nathaniel's Independent Short Film 'Dig!'

WHO I AM

Hello everyone, I'm Nathaniel A. Elfant! I am an actor and writer who was raised in Chicago, now living in Los Angeles. Believe it or not, the world of acting has ebbs and flows when it comes to finding work. In the slow time between jobs I take the opportunity to create sketches and short films. This one being the most ambitious one yet, which is why I'm asking all of you to help me see this one through!

MISSION STATEMENT

Dig! is a short proof of concept for a feature script I wrote last year. Inspired by my love of suspense, comedy, and absurdism, this film is my attempt to navigate through modern relationships in a way audiences have not seen before. It will be used in festival submissions and will be a major part in pitching my feature script to production companies. While it's my first time putting something together at this scale, I have gathered a team of incredible artists and technicians that are sure to make it one of a kind.

SO WHAT'S THIS FILM ALL ABOUT?

Logline ~ The day after young couple Caly and Adam move in together, Caly disappears; making Adam the prime suspect. Trapped in a tangled mind, Adam grapples with what is true and what is fantasy behind Caly’s disappearance.

Synopsis ~ Caly and Adam are a young couple who have just moved in together in Chicago. After a disagreement about what this big step means for their relationship, Caly goes missing just a day after the move. Caly's sister, Thalia, and the police target Adam as suspect number one. As suspicion mounts against him, Adam's dreams go from bizarre to bizarrer leading him to believe that things aren’t as they seem. Suddenly he finds himself torn between a world of structure and obscurity while he tries to untangle the truth behind his missing girlfriend.

TIMELINE

We are set to film in Chicago during the last week of August and into Labor Day! We are planning a rehearsal day on August 27th with our cast and crew. Filming will begin on August 28th through September 1st. Post-production will begin immediately after we wrap.
