Support Nathaniel's Band Trip to Disney

Hi. It's Linda, Nate's mom. I would like to start by saying that I understand that most GoFundMe pages are for far more serious situations than this one. I hope I do not offend anyone who sees this as a trivial request.

As some of you may know, Nathaniel is a self-taught and accomplished musician. He is honestly gifted. I am his mother, but I swear it's true. He plays guitar, bass, ukulele and most recently drums. He joined the Mooresville High School "Pride in Motion" marching band and has been a dedicated member for two years. He plays snare in the drum line.

It's not easy, but he has stuck with it every step of the way. No pun intended. He has made great friends and has grown into a person who inspires me to be a better human. His confidence is astounding. His love of a new way to express his creativity and talent is truly inspiring. I am so very proud of him. He has been the greatest joy in my life for the past sixteen years.

I have struggled like so many others as a single mom. Every year since he was five, I have tried to plan a trip for us to Disney World. I was never able to make it happen. He has always understood and never complained when I could not give him things that many of his friends had.

This year, the Mooresville High School Pride in Motion marching band is taking a trip to Disneyworld, where they will also perform. As every parent knows, you want to give your children everything. He has a chance to go now with friends and teachers who have made such a difference in his life. Nothing would make me happier than to be able to give him this chance.

As I said earlier, I know that there are far more important GoFundMe campaigns for people who desperately need help. I wouldn't blame anyone who saw this as frivolous. I just know that he deserves this trip. If you can donate any small amount to cover the cost of this trip, I would be forever grateful. Nate would be forever grateful as well. He does not know I am doing this, but I figured it's worth a try.
