Support Nathaniel Evans' Kidney Transplant Recovery

Nathaniel E. Evans, Jr., also affectionately known as Brother to family and close friends, is a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle; he is also the patriarch of his family. He loves to cook, and his hospitality is second to none. As the patriarch, he has provided wisdom and financial help to all he could without hesitation. In 2018, Nathaniel was diagnosed with Stage 4 chronic kidney disease (CKD), as a result of family genetics. Although the diagnosis was unsettling, he was still able to work full-time as a government contractor as a Security Police Officer in various locations within the DMV. Nathaniel was the breadwinner for his wife, and their grandson, who they have been raising since he was a toddler.
Unfortunately, in 2022, Nathaniel contracted COVID, which accelerated his CKD to Stage 5 (also known as end-stage kidney disease or ESKD) and the immediate need to begin dialysis three times a week. As a result of the treatment’s frequency, he had to resign from his employment – resulting in a severe deficit in monthly income. At the beginning of 2023, Nathaniel’s wife was diagnosed with a rare, advanced form of dementia. Because she is unable to be home alone, she lives between home with Nathaniel and her daughter, until there is a need to place her in a higher level of care. In July 2024, Nathaniel was blessed to receive a kidney. While the transplant was successful, he still has an uphill battle with hopes that his body does not reject the kidney.
Nathaniel continues to focus on his health, provide part-time care for his wife, and full-time care for his grandson; however, he is now facing a major financial hardship. Nathaniel is 74 years old and has limited resources. His monthly social security payments only cover a fraction of his living and medical expenses. He is asking for not only your prayers but financial support for his rent, utilities, medical bills, food, transportation, gas, and anything else he may need to help provide for his immediate family. Please help take some of the burden away from him so that he can focus on his recovery. No amount is too small.
We thank you in advance for your time, consideration, and contributions.
