Support Nathan Walsh and his family
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Dawn Lawson and I've worked with Janet Walsh for the last six years at Hayfield Secondary School. On behalf of Mary Scully, Lora Wilson and the rest of the Middle School Math Department at Hayfield, we’re requesting the community’s support to help the Walshes.
Janet is one of the most caring and compassionate teachers I've known in my two decades as a teacher. She always puts others first and was even hesitant to tell me about her husband Nathan's emergent hospital visit.
On December 21, 2022, Nathan had an unexpected medical emergency that quickly landed him in ICU in critical condition. He is expected to be in the ICU for the foreseeable future until he is medically stable enough to receive a transplant for his failing organs. His doctors believe if he does not receive a transplant within the next 3 months, he will not survive.
His family is traveling over an hour each way to see him in Baltimore. He is not stable enough to be transported to a facility near their home in Alexandria.
Nathan lives in Alexandria with his wife Janet and his daughter Ashley. Janet has been a teacher at Hayfield Secondary School for 11 years, however, they rely on Nathan to be the main provider for the family. With his current status, the family is struggling.
We want Janet and her family to be able to focus on being there for Nathan. Your contribution will help offset the cost of:
- Hospital bills
- Gas for daily trips back and forth from Alexandria to Baltimore
- Salary loss while Nathan and Janet are taking leave without pay
Thank you for your consideration.
