Support Nathan and Jenahlee: Fighting Stage 4 Cancer

Donation protected
Nathan was diagnosed with Stage IV esophageal adenocarcinoma in January 2025. He underwent eight rounds of chemotherapy, and his June scans showed promising results—the treatment was working. Unfortunately, his August scans revealed signs of progression, showing that the cancer had started to resist his current treatment.
He was referred to Mayo Clinic to explore possible clinical trial options, but after evaluation, they determined that none were the right fit at this time. Instead, they strongly recommended beginning the next available treatment as soon as possible, as his scans from August to September already showed additional growth.
Some of the cancer has spread along the lymphatic channels in his left lung, making it difficult for him to breathe. This, combined with a recent bout of bronchitis, has significantly weakened his body. The side effects from his new treatment have also made it impossible for Nathan to continue working since mid-September.
Nathan has already used all of his available sick leave, and his FMLA coverage is nearing its end. He will soon transition to short-term disability. Once his FMLA expires, he’ll enter a 30-day unpaid leave of absence, during which he’ll need to continue his health insurance coverage through COBRA—an expense he’ll now have to pay out of pocket.
We're hosting a benefit for Nathan on November 1st to support him and his family as they navigate this incredibly difficult time. In the meantime, we’ve set up this GoFundMe to help ease some of the immediate financial burdens they’re facing. Nathan and Jenahlee are doing everything they can to stay strong and focused on his recovery, but the financial strain has become overwhelming. Any amount of support—no matter how small—will go a long way in helping them manage medical costs and household expenses. While the fundraiser offers a way to contribute now, we truly hope you'll also join us at the benefit—your presence means just as much as your support. Your generosity means more than words can express and will make a real difference in their journey.
