On July 10th, 2025, we welcomed our twin boys, Nathan and Gabriel, into the world at just 32 weeks. Since birth, they’ve been in the NICU at UNM, fighting hard each day with incredible strength and resilience.
Their journey has not been easy. The most immediate concern has been with their musculoskeletal system. When they were born, their muscles were extremely tight—almost like a constant cramp—and they had very little range of motion in their joints. While we’ve seen some progress, they are still not able to move on their own, and much of the muscle tightness remains.
In addition to these challenges, they’re facing many of the complications that often come with premature birth. Gabriel has additional concerns involving his skeletal plates, which may be fused or overlapping, and he is under close observation due to heart complications stemming from TTTS (Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome) during pregnancy.
We don’t yet know the full scope of what the future holds for Nate and Gabe—some answers may take years. But what we do know is that they will need ongoing care, therapy, and specialized medical support to give them the best possible chance at a full and happy life.
This fundraiser is one way we’re hoping to meet the growing financial needs that come with extended NICU care, diagnostic testing, therapies, potential surgeries, and travel to specialists. Your support—whether through a donation, a share, or simply keeping our family in your prayers—means more to us than we can express.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for standing with us, for loving our boys, and for being part of their journey.
With gratitude and hope,
Rebekah and David Stoltzfus
