At 2 AM on Monday, Dec 29th, 2025, an Ypsilanti police "trainee" kicked in Nathan's back door after responding to a dispatch for a suicidal person. They apparently had the wrong address—that of an apartment building (Nathan lives in a house).
This isn't Nathan's first harassment by the police. He was racially profiled and pulled out of his car, roughed up, and intimidated in the past (he was also given a speeding ticket as insult to injury).
The police also took his lawn mower without any due process after a woman accused him of stealing her unrelated lawn mower simply because he was walking past her house with his own lawn mower.
We know we can't rely on the police to do right by him. Let's help him repair his door! And while we're at it, let's help him cover the cost of his lost lawn mower.
Lawn mower - $369
Ticket - $125
Front Door + Labor estimate - $1500
Total - $1,994
