Support Nate's Heart and Healing Journey

Donation protected
Hi Friends, Family, and Contributors. I am asking for compassion, concern, and generosity today. Nathaniel Miles is my best friend, my support, my heart, my love, my soon-to-be husband. (Update! Now MY HUSBAND! ♥️).
Nate is a seemingly healthy young man who is in his 40s. We could not foresee what has transpired over these last few weeks, to say the least. Nate had an overall decline in his well-being almost instantly. This pointed him to go to the ER. He was having trouble breathing, eating, sleeping, and a complete loss of energy.

After being dismissed from the ER as just having shortness of breath and a general feeling of weakness, he was discharged without medication or an understanding of what was happening to him and no concern from the medical professionals he has worked near for the majority of his life. Mind you, he had fluid in his lungs and blood work that wasn’t typical for a healthy man. He left the ER without a clue as to what he should do. One week later, he would find himself back in the same ER that dismissed him, now even weaker and with symptoms more severe than they were in his prior visit. He dropped a significant amount of weight and had zero energy. Thankfully, this time the doctors realized he is not well and may have some serious medical needs that should be addressed promptly. Nate was then transferred to Advent Health, where he was shortly diagnosed with a serious heart condition that left his heart extremely weak and unable to pump enough blood throughout his body. ❤️‍

While we are extremely grateful and blessed to have this amazing medical team taking care of Nate, this has been an emotional shock to him and our family. We were blindsided and did not expect something like this to happen, especially while preparing to get married this April and making future plans and goals for our family. Hearing the doctors talk about upcoming surgeries, implantable and wearable devices, possible transplant, having to commute to out-of-town doctors, copays, and medication costs was not in our preparation, at least not without warning.

Nate has served our community for over 30 years in healthcare at Holmes Regional Medical Center, and now he needs his community to help him get through this.

We are still adjusting to these sudden changes; Nate is grateful to be here and now home with his family and dogs, with God’s good grace, we will continue to be ♥️. He currently has to wear a "LifeVest" in the event Nate goes into cardiac arrest and we do not know for how long.

I am starting this donation for the purpose of allowing Nate to heal without the stress of finances due to medical bills. Under his doctor’s orders, Nate cannot return to his job until he is strong enough. All the money raised will go directly to Nate's personal account for him to use as he and his immediate family see fit. The idea is to get Nate back to 100%, and his time should be focused only on that.

If you are a friend or family member, then you know who Nate is.
Nate and I have known each other for almost 10 years. Within those 10 years, we have gotten to know each other and blended our families together. Me and my 6 children and him and his son have now lived under the same roof for almost 5 years. Nate has been our family's main provider and support. I cannot express enough what Nate has done for me and my children, from giving us a house that we can call home, being a dad to my children, pulling me up when I have down days, and just being there for me when I need it the most. The least I can do for Nate now is to be there for him when he needs me more than ever. Please help in easing some of the financial burdens that will come into play during this time of healing and recovery.

"And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up" - Paul, Galatians 6:9

Thank you for listening to our story and please look out for future fundraisers for Nathaniel "Nate" Miles and remember "With God all things are possible" - Matthew 19:26
