Nate Scott's Fight Against Lymphoma
Donation protected
On behalf of the dear Scott family, I am sharing a personal life update, with the purpose of friends and family to come alongside to help carry them through this new, unexpected, and very challenging chapter that they've just found themselves in.
Nate Scott has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Classical Hodgkins Lymphoma recently. He received a PET scan this week, which shows that the cancer is in his spleen, kidney, bone marrow, chest and neck. Nate will begin chemotherapy very soon and will spend the next 6 months receiving treatments bi-weekly in Kalamazoo. The treatment that Nate will receive (NIVO-AVD) is fairly new and has a high success rate with treatment, even for advanced stages of Lymphoma.
For those of you who know Nate, Katie & their 4 children, you are aware of how much their family loves on and serves others so well. Nate has been in vocational ministry for most of his adult life, currently serving as Worship & Connections pastor at The River in Kalamazoo, MI. We would love to come around their family during this time to love on and serve them and carry this burden with them. One tangible way we can do that is by helping financially. For any of us who have found ourselves in a difficult season, having friends and family help lighten any stressors can be SO helpful! By coming alongside them financially, this can not only lessen the financial burden during this time, but also provide resources for lessening other burdens - meals, help with house cleaning, etc. As the Scotts friends, it is our desire to allow them to focus on getting through these next 6+ months of treatments and recovery. They know they have a long road ahead of them, AND, they don't have to carry it alone!
In addition to this GoFundMe, please see Katie's Venmo below as well. (Scotts will receive your full gift, rather than having a small percentage be taken for GoFundMe.) Either option will still get the funds directly to the Scotts.

Some ideas to consider for how your gift can bless the Scotts:
- How much does it cost to feed your family of SIX (!!! - growing children included!!) - consider a gift in that amount to "sponsor" a dinner on you!
- $100 to "sponsor" hiring a cleaner to come help lessen the load of laundry, deep cleaning, etc. every couple of weeks. (As a mom myself, I know how much that would de-stress me and show love!)
- $ for gas
- $ for a babysitter, as needs arise for Katie to be more present with Nate at his treatments.
- $ for a family fun day activity - bless them with the gift of spending quality time together on a day that Nate is feeling well and up for an activity with the family!
Thank you for your consideration to bless Nate, Katie, Layla, Barrett, Griffin & Daisy during this chapter of their lives!
Lastly, there is power in prayer! Please keep their whole family in your prayers. So many things we can lift to the Father, the Great Physician! This effects each member of their family in different ways, all the way from Nate to baby Daisy!
