Help Support Nate McDonough

On Sunday, our family’s world was turned upside down.

My nephew and godson, Nate McDonough, was involved in a terrible dirt bike accident while riding with friends. He was hit head-on, thrown from his bike, and suffered serious head injuries. Nate is currently in the ICU at Savannah Memorial Hospital in Savannah, GA, where he is intubated and in an induced coma as doctors carefully monitor brain swelling and work to give him the best possible chance to heal.

Right now, we are living hour by hour. We don’t yet know the full extent of Nate’s injuries or what his recovery will look like until he wakes up. What we do know is that he is surrounded by an incredible medical team and by a family and community who love him deeply.

Nate is only 19 years old, and if you know him, you know what a special soul he is. He is hardworking, generous, and always willing to show up for others. Nate runs his own concrete curbing business, works demolition for my parents’ building company, helps with carpet cleaning for his aunt’s business, and is always lending a hand wherever it’s needed. He loves dirt bike riding, four-wheeling, working with equipment, and most of all, being with his family and friends. He is deeply loved by adults and kids alike the kind of young man who gives more than he ever asks for.

As Nate fights to heal, ICU medical bills are already piling up, and at just 19 years old, he does not have health insurance. Our hope is that when Nate wakes up, he can focus fully on recovery not on an overwhelming financial burden placed on his shoulders at such a young age.

We are asking for prayers first and foremost, and for support in any way you feel called to give. Every donation, share, and prayer helps us wrap Nate in love and take some of the weight off as he begins this journey.

Thank you for loving Nate, for lifting him up in prayer, and for being part of his village. We believe in his strength, and we are trusting in hope, healing, and community.

With gratitude and love,
Nate’s family
