My name is Natasha Bryan and my family in Jamaica has been affected by Hurricane Melissa. I currently reside in Waldorf, MD. My mom and dad, sisters, and brothers really need help to repair damages to our home. This damage includes water and roof repair. My oldest daughter just learned that her father was found perished due to the hurricane and would love to travel home to pay her respects. She spent this past summer vacation with her father and was looking forward to being with him again for the upcoming Christmas holiday (a memory that is no longer able to come to fruition due to his demise).
I come to you humble and true for help towards rebuilding for my family. It was very hard for me to start this, but a tragedy so devastating will make you place all pride aside when in need.
We not only had damage to our home, we have also lost family. Rebuilding is one expense; however, funeral costs and transportation back home to attend is another. Anyone who can find it in their heart to donate will be a true blessing to my family. No amount is too small, and we are appreciative for whatever you can spare. I know times are tough for us all; therefore, if you are unable to assist, I understand. I just ask that you share this GoFundMe with someone in an effort to help me reach as many as I can.
I have attached photos of the damage from the hurricane for your viewing. I would like to leave with a prayer: "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." - Psalm 46:1. It's a reminder that even during a hurricane, you can find strength and refuge in faith.
