Support Natasha & Ziva's New Beginning After The Eaton Fire

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Philip, and I was married to Natasha for 18 years. We met when we were both in our early 20s, in New York, and not much longer after that I was diagnosed with a chronic autoimmune disease. Natasha took care of me for several decades, always there and always making sure I had everything I needed. And while I won't ever be able to repay that emotional and physical debt, I would like to somehow start returning the kindness and care she showed me for all those years.

Natasha rented an apartment in Altadena, right on the edge of where the Eaton Fire broke out. While her apartment is miraculously still standing, she hasn't been able to go back since the evening of January 7th, when she and our dog, Ziva, were both evacuated. The community she loved and cultivated there has gone. The smoke damage to her apartment is severe. Her bed and sofa both need to be completely replaced, along with several pieces of furniture, and while the house has been undergoing work to replace the insulation and clean-up the toxins, she has had nowhere to stay in over two months. This has resulted in many additional costs, especially as she has had to pay rent in that time, is still awaiting any support from FEMA, and has been denied additional assistance by her renters insurance, due to a clerical error in its filing.

Sadly, a major family bereavement also took place during this time, and although Natasha isn't they type to feel comfortable asking for help directly, and has tried her best to make do in this difficult time, I'm now asking her friends, family and community to lend a hand during a time of great need and distress for her, to help in any way they can, while she gets herself back on her feet.

The streets immediately surrounding her home have been devastated and Natasha has recently made the difficult decision to leave the area and community she so loved and cherished to find a new apartment, so I'd like to help her as much as possible as she relocates both herself and the dog, as they both deserve a loving and safe home, a place of respite and tranquility. The two months without this has taken a huge emotional toll on them both.

The money raised will go towards replacing her damaged belongings, the cleaning of her smoke damaged clothes (Natasha is a freelance stylist, and much of her work archive has also been affected), repay debts occurred from hotel stays, and help with moving costs.

If you know Natasha, you know how sensitive, compassionate and loving she is. It's not ever easy for anyone to ask for help, so I'm asking for her. She spent years of her life and countless dollars and hours taking care of me, her extended family, all of our pets, everyone she could, however she could, and she more than deserves the same kindness in return.

Anything you can do will mean so much to her, and to me.

If you know Ziva, if you've ever seen her around, you know that this is a dog that deserves a stable and safe home, too! She’s been through enough trauma in her young life already.
