Update: My mom got diagnosed with breast cancer March of 2024 where she underwent chemo treatments and radiation and had her first mastectomy done October of 2024, she has finished her last radiation treatment January of 2025 and is now waiting to undergo her second surgery. As most of you know my mom doesn’t have health insurance and due to the type of job she has she is unable to work due to the risks. She is struggling tremendously to keep up financially, thankfully we have received so much support from friends and family as well as the Babylon Breast Cancer Institution. We were expecting for her to go back to work after she recovered from her second and hopefully last surgery this fall of 2025 putting her in remission but today march 27, 2025 we have received more horrible news we weren’t expecting to receive. Mom will now be battling thyroid cancer and is expecting to have surgery to remove her glands in the next month and will have to undergo more treatments which will put a bigger strain on her financially and mentally. In the midst of life’s toughest battles, there are heroes living quietly among us. My mom, a single parent, grandmother, and the backbone of our family, is currently fighting breast cancer. Something we didn’t expect and financially weren’t prepared for. This GoFundMe campaign aims to support her through treatment, as she cannot work due to being on bed rest, and she lacks health insurance. We were not expecting her to stop working up until she physically was not able to but unfortunately she was put on bed rest by her oncologist due to the risks her job brings her. She has 3 children, 2 out of the 3 still depend on her. Bills are already piling up and surgery is scheduled to be in 5 months when she finishes chemo. She is struggling tremendously to keep up with medical bills as well as regular life bills such as rent, and utilities.
