Hi, it's Amy Kurland, reaching out today to support the Nashville Songwriters Foundation and our great interview show, The Songwriters.
We are on a mission this week and are coming to you for help. I am excited to tell you that we just got the news that the show will be available this fall in over 85% of the PBS markets around the country.
But it's going to be expensive, and we have a very short deadline, next Monday, June 1.
We need $100,000 in less than a week. Good news, we've already raised $84000!
Here's the story:
The Nashville Songwriters Foundation is dedicated to celebrating Nashville's greatest songwriters and sharing their song and stories for generations to come. That, of course, includes the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, interactive and educational programs with students and our annual gala.
Our goal, though, has been to extend our outreach to a much wider audience, and we've just received word that our hope is becoming a reality.
Many of your favorite writers have appeared on "The Songwriters," our television show showcasing members of the Hall of Fame, which continues to grow in visibility.
The show is produced locally, and we just receiving the amazing news that so many PBS affiliates have picked up the show that we'll be reaching 85% of all American homes in the 2027-27 season. the PBS stations in the country are planning to air it starting this fall. Very exciting.
The show is produced on a modest budget, with the interviews done at MTSU's television studies with student crews. The host is our board member Ken Paulson, former editor of USA Today. Even with this economical approach, though, producing and distributing a national television show is expensive and we need your support.
We are going to try to raise $100,000 this week!!! to cover the costs of production and the fees to put it on the air. Would you consider donating to this campaign, so that these interviews with the members of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame will be seen across the country? We already have matching funds for the first $50,000, so your donation goes twice as far.
Anyone who donates wilI be acknowledged in our public outreach, including press releases, our website and social media.
Please help us preserve and archive the rich history of Nashville songwriting, ensuring future generations can appreciate this art form.
Join us in supporting this vital work. Together, we can help keep the spirit of Nashville's songwriting alive and thriving.
Thank you for your support!
