My name is Michael Spencer, founder of Nash Dogs, a family-owned cafe in Old Hickory, Tennessee. Opening Nash Dogs Cafe was the realization of a dream that had been years in the making. We poured everything we had into transforming that space into something we could be proud of. Last night, that dream changed in an instant. A fire started in the kitchen and tore through the interior of our cafe, causing extensive damage and forcing us to close indefinitely. Walking into the building and seeing the destruction was heartbreaking. No one was injured, but the road ahead is overwhelming.
Nash Dogs was built so we could come together, where our employees could provide for their families, and where we could all build something meaningful through hard work and perseverance. We are committed to rebuilding. I have never been one to ask anyone for anything, but today I’m asking for support so I can continue to build my dream, to support my family, staff, and community. Your donation will help us repair and restore the fire-damaged building, replace kitchen equipment, furniture, and essential supplies, cover expenses required to safely reopen, and help support our team while we work to get back on our feet.
To everyone who has supported Nash Dogs over the years, if you’ve visited the cafe, stopped by our food truck, catered an event with us, or simply encouraged us along the way we are grateful. Rebuilding won’t happen overnight. We aren’t defeated, just encouraged. Thank you for believing in us. With gratitude, Michael Spencer & the Nash Dogs Family.
