My name is Narishm, and I’m reaching out on behalf of myself and my mom. We’ve both been doing our best to hold things together, but right now, we’re facing more than we can manage on our own. I’m asking for help with urgent medical care, food, and basic living expenses while we fight to get back on our feet.

Why We Need Help

I’m currently dealing with a severe dental infection that has spread through most of my teeth and down into my jaw. The pain is constant, and the infection keeps coming back — I’ve had three major infections in just the past two months, each worse than the last. These infections can become life-threatening if left untreated. I can't even chew food at this point.

Unfortunately, I don’t have dental insurance, and the free clinics in my area have stopped taking appointments entirely due to overwhelming demand. The only treatment option left is a full extraction, including impacted wisdom teeth that will require surgery, followed by dentures. I simply can’t afford it.

Health and Work Situation

On top of the dental issue, I’m also dealing with Lumbar Spondylosis and Degenerative Disc Disease. My spine has a curvature to the right, with narrowing and arthropathy in the lower lumbar area. Recently, I also bruised my spine, which has made movement — and working — almost impossible.

I’m in the process of trying to apply for disability with an attorney, but that takes time, and time is something we don’t have much of right now. In addition to that, I need to be seen by two different specialists, as well as my normal doctor, before they will even look at my case.

Our Living Situation

Mom and I are struggling just to keep food on the table. The local food banks only allow one visit every 30 days, and our food stamp benefits were recently cut from $300 to $125 a month. My mom’s SSI benefits were also reduced by $300, leaving us barely enough to cover rent each month.

We have no working telephones and no car insurance, so even my old backup plan — driving for Uber — isn’t an option right now. Next month, we won’t even be able to pay our power bill.
