This GoFundMe is on behalf of my best friend, Narek — a young climate leader from Armenia who has just been accepted into one of the world’s top climate programs at Columbia University in New York City. Now, he needs our help to get there!
Narek is truly a force of nature. Whether he’s founding youth climate initiatives, leading youth inclusion efforts at UNICEF Armenia, or representing our country on global stages, he doesn’t just talk about the future—he actively builds it.
Today, he has reached a milestone that most only dream of: acceptance into the Master of Science in Climate program at Columbia University.
This isn’t just any program. Columbia’s Climate School is ranked among the top in the world, and out of thousands of applicants globally, Narek was selected because of his exceptional dedication, leadership, and vision. Those of us who know him have always believed in his potential—now the world is recognizing it too.
But for students from Armenia, the path from acceptance to attendance is not guaranteed. The distance between a dream and an Ivy League classroom is not just measured in miles—it’s measured in financial barriers that talent alone cannot overcome.
Columbia has already recognized Narek’s potential by awarding him a $30,000 scholarship. This is a huge achievement, but it only covers part of the total cost.
To make this dream a reality, we are working to raise $60,000 to cover the remaining tuition and the cost of living in New York City, so Narek can begin his studies this Fall.
