My name is Naomi. Unfortunately, I broke my foot and sprained my ankle. As a result, I had to have corrective surgery. Not only did a have a huge bill to pay at Northside Hospital but also two plates and screws were put into my left foot. I cannot walk or put any weight on my foot for a total of 6 weeks while the hard wear “conforms” to the inside of my foot. I will also need an additional 4 weeks of physical therapy after I come out of the boot. I have not been unable to work, maintain the property I clean, or do any deliveries. I have bills and I need assistance to help me get everyday things done like showering, cooking, cleaning, and driving that I was once able to do alone. Asking for help was really a challenge for me as I am extremely independent and active, and I cut my grass every week. I tried to complete some of these tasks and had a setback where some of the stitches split. After that, I understand I must really rest and let my foot heal. I don’t want to reverse the surgery and end up having to stay immobile longer. Shifting from using both legs and now having to put all of my weight on one right leg and foot has been challenging. There is equipment needed to help in recovery that insurance does not cover that will make life much easier, like a knee scooter, shower chair, wedge to elevate, crutches, etc. Please help me raise money to cover my two thousand dollar out of pocket deductible with my health insurance, groceries, and additional bills while I recover without any way to generate income for the next 8 weeks. I am truly grateful for all donations. Any amount contributed will be helpful and appreciated.
