Hello, my name is Naomi. I want to share my story about my blood disorder. It is called Black Diamond Fan Anemia. The more detailed information about my condition: Diamond-Blackfan anemia (DBA) and Fanconi anemia are both rare bone marrow failure disorders, but they differ in their genetic causes and clinical manifestations. DBA is characterized by the bone marrow's inability to produce enough red blood cells, leading to anemia. Fanconi anemia, on the other hand, is caused by mutations in DNA repair genes and can lead to a broader range of symptoms, including bone marrow failure and congenital abnormalities. With this condition, I have to get blood transfusions every 2 or 4 weeks. If you are asking how long I've been doing this, I've been doing this since birth.
At this moment, I was provided with an opportunity that would change my life. With this procedure, it could change a lot for me. This could be a possible cure for me. My procedure is to do a bone marrow transplant to see if this will help cure me. Unfortunately, I will have to travel to all my appointments, which will be added expenses. My mother will have to miss a lot of work to transport me to all these appointments over the next couple of years!
I would be grateful if you are able to donate whatever you can to help me with my journey. I just want to get better and be free of not going through the pain that I have been dealing with.
