I have a home in Nangka, Balamban, Cebu that was impacted by devastating floods caused by Typhoon Tino.
My home survived with ankle-deep water inside. We were 15 people and 6 dogs, plus three cats, trapped in my house by rushing waters without a means to escape. The waters receded, and what's left is a muddy home. We survived.
The surrounding adjacent community to the house is where 200 families reside.
This is Sitio Riverside.
It's totally devastated.
I want to help these families, many of whom have been family to me in these last 17 years of having my home here.
I am presently hosting 18 rescued people from Nangka in my parents' home in Liloan, located three hours away, with more coming Sunday.
I need help to support these families to rebuild their lives and provide temporary shelter until they can rebuild homes.
Any amount is appreciated.
We are heading back to Nangka every two days with badly needed emergency relief goods.
Water, food, and tents are what's needed most.
