We are going to fight against cancer again one more time with this new comeback we have to fight hard harder. Caring for her mother during this fragile stage is the most important thing Nancy can do. After years of fighting ovarian cancer, the effects of chemotherapy have left her mother’s body and spirit so delicate. It’s not just the patient who suffers—cancer and its treatments ripple through the entire family. Nancy is by her mother’s side every day, making sure she is comfortable and surrounded by love, but the emotional and financial toll is immense.

On top of caring for her mom, Nancy is also the primary caregiver for her autistic grandson and her stepdaughter, who lives with epilepsy. Balancing all of these responsibilities is overwhelming, but she does it out of love and a sense of duty to her family. The costs of travel for medical appointments, daily living expenses, and time away from work are adding up quickly. Her mom’s private healthcare has cut the home health care program, and because she is still receiving chemotherapy, she does not qualify for hospice. Nancy is doing everything she can, but she needs help.

Many in Sonoma County know Nancy as the co-owner of Smackin’ Soul Food, where she has dedicated herself to bringing people together through food and supporting local nonprofits, events, and celebrations. She has always tried to give back to her community, and now she is asking for support in return.
