Support Nancy's Family After Hurricane Helene
Donation protected
Hi y'all, I need your help! My best friend Nancy, Andrew and her parents lost their homes during the catastrophic flooding from Hurricane Helene.
Nancy and Andrew have been living in her Grandma's old house, right next door to her childhood home where her parents live. The two houses sit on the bank of the Swannanoa river which swelled to record highs during Helene. The flood destroyed the entire street of houses in the East Asheville neighborhood in a matter of hours. Fortunately, Nancy and Andrew are out of the country, so they were safe from the immediate danger and had moved most of their belongings into a storage unit before their trip. During the flood, Nancy's parents, Becky and Dwayne, were able to evacuate to a neighbors house. However, they did not have time to save any belongings from their home. Both houses, full of priceless memories were lost, along with everything they owned.
This family means the absolute world to me. Nancy and I have been friends for over 16 years. Becky and Dwayne have always been so warm and welcoming. They represent the true, down-to-earth, caring and conscious spirit of Asheville. I know that so many people are in need right now across the region. But if I know anything about the Asheville community, and the community this family has built around them, it's that we help each other through hard times.
Please help me raise money for these incredibly kind people. This money will go directly towards their immediate needs and replacing their belongings. In their humble and generous nature, any funds not used by the family will be donated to local organizations that are helping our community in this difficult time.
