Support Nancy Zoe in her fight against multiple Myeloma
Donation protected
On August 9th, Nancy was diagnosed with multiple myeloma and as a result had to undergo surgeries on her leg and on both of her arms to help stabilize her limbs, this is due to the fragile bone as a result of the diagnosis. Nancy is now beginning a rigorous treatment plan that involves chemotherapy and radiation. She will have to travel each week to and from her home of Yellowknife, NT to Edmonton, AB for all treatments.
Those who know Nancy know that her number 1 priority is her family, particularly her parents, but also her Community. Nancy is also a valued employee of Diavik Diamond Mine for over 20 years where she's contributed to the operation through Coordination support. She's also made long lasting relationships within the Diavik community.
As a result of Nancy's diagnosis, she is unexpectedly not able to work for the foreseeable future and has assumed financial burdens related to day to day living expenses and travel for family from Gameti and throughout the North to support her medical needs. With Nancy's now limited physical abilities she may need to consider finding a new home or alternate accommodation that suits her throughout the treatment process. Nancy has always been a very large support to her elder parents and is now unable to do so.
Nancy's outlook and positivity throughout this difficult time speaks volumes about her courage, strength and resiliency - this is no surprise to those that know her! In her own words "I am strong, I got this, I'll be ok".
We appreciate everyone's support, standing alongside her, near or far, with positive thoughts through this journey.
Nancy and the family appreciate everyone's support.
