Support Nancy McWilliams' Road to Recovery

Our Mom, Nancy McWilliams was in a horrible car accident on September 22nd, one week after celebrating her 78th birthday. She had to be cut out of her van by the jaws of life and then flown to Albany Med via helicopter. She has suffered life changing injuries because of the accident including the loss of her right index finger, broken ribs, a hole in her eye in addition to 3 of the 4 eye muscles being completely torn. She was told the chances were very high she may not be able to see out of her eye because of this. We brought Mom home to heal as that was the best place for her to be. All of her specialists are very pleased with her healing and we are excited that she can see out of her eye. It is NOT perfect (yet) but she has beaten the odds there so far. She will have many ongoing appointments for an unknown amount of time and more than likely will require future surgeries.

Those of you who know her know that she is a giver. She gives her time, her love, her happy energy to those around her. She is always first in line to help any friend or family. She will go out of her way to make sure everyone has everything they need. Her love is well known and felt by everyone.

As many of you know, Nancy, was a VERY independent person. She did not like to rely on anyone for help. She was always on the go and her van was well known around town. She was very active in the Mayfield and Galway Senior groups and often went on day and overnight trips with both groups. She also would drive to North Myrtle Beach by herself to enjoy her timeshares she had at the ocean. She could often be seen out getting her groceries or on her way to see her family. This has all been changed due to this horrible accident. She now needs help getting around as she cannot do it by herself due to her injuries.

Mom will have many, many ongoing medical expenses as she heals from this awful event. The flight to Albany will for certain max out the insurance. We are trying to raise funds to help her with these medical expenses that will continue and to replace her vehicle that was totaled. We appreciate any and all continued prayers and help as we get her back on her feet. She is our 'Wonder Woman' - Tina & Lisa
