My name is Nanci. I am 66 years old and currently work full-time at Goodwill. I recently was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. I'm currently working with a doctor and looking at treatment options, which include chemo once a week. I'm being told this treatment will put me out of work for several months. I live paycheck to paycheck with no support or help from anyone else. My job does offer FMLA for 12 weeks with no pay. I have no family to lean on, and without working and getting the treatments, I will have no way to pay my bills. Without the treatment, the cancer will progress. I find myself stuck in a hard place. I have spent several dollars out of pocket for co-pays.

On top of all this, my car is having mechanical issues, which makes driving too far a concern and worries me about getting to appointments. Some of the things that bring me great joy in my life are my adoptive grandson Elijah, who is 4 months old, and my good friends who have been there for me. Elijah is truly my heart and I want to see him grow and him to remember me. I have been torn about this whole GoFundMe page because I am a very private person and have always been able to take care of myself. So, from the bottom of my heart, I appreciate any support.
