Support Nanay’s Recovery and Care

My grandmother, Marcelina—lovingly called Nanay by our whole family—has always been the heart of our home. She raised eight children, cared for all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and made sure everyone felt loved and supported. Even after I moved from the Philippines to the United States, the memories of her cooking our favorite meals and teaching us family recipes have stayed with me. Her warmth and generosity have shaped our family for generations.

Recently, during a family trip to the Philippines, Nanay suffered a serious fall at an Airbnb that was not as senior-friendly as promised. She was hospitalized for a month, underwent hip replacement surgery, and now faces a long road to recovery. On top of her physical challenges, Nanay is living with dementia, which makes her healing even more difficult. She often forgets about the accident, feels pain without understanding why, and tries to do daily activities despite her limited mobility. This has been heartbreaking for all of us, as her spirit remains strong but her body needs extra care.

We are raising funds to help cover the remaining hospital bills, ongoing caregiver costs, and daily medical needs like diapers and medicines. Nanay’s youngest daughter, who has been her primary caregiver, will handle the funds to ensure they go directly to Nanay’s care. Any support will help us provide the comfort and dignity she deserves as she recovers from this life-changing accident.
