My Nana is currently fighting late-stage cancer, and our family is going through something incredibly difficult right now. Due to complications during a procedure, her tracheostomy and feeding tube were not done correctly, and she has now gone over 9 weeks without proper nutrition. As a result, she is severely malnourished and weak. On top of that, she is suffering from painful burns on her neck and chin caused by chemotherapy and radiation treatments. She has been in the hospital for over a week, but we are being pushed to bring her home — even though we are not financially prepared to provide the level of care she urgently needs. Her care is complex and ongoing. She requires specialized feeding supplies for her stomach tube, monthly blood thinners due to multiple blood clots, tracheostomy care supplies, and wound care supplies.

Unfortunately, she has not been approved for government assistance, and the financial burden has fallen entirely on our family. Because of the level of care she needs, my parents and I have had to step away from work to take care of her, which has made things even harder. We are doing everything we can to support her, but we cannot do this alone. Any donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward her medical care and basic needs.
