Open-Heart Surgery & Recovery Support Needed

Hi friends, I’m Elizabeth — daughter-in-law to the wild-hearted, barefoot, garden-growing, always-showing-up woman we all call Jenny (or as the littles and most of us know her, Nana).

Right now, our Momma is facing a mountain we never saw coming. After a string of concerning symptoms and tests, doctors discovered not just one but several rare and serious heart conditions — including a congenital vascular defect and signs of heart failure. She now has to undergo two-part open-heart vascular surgery, starting with a carotid-subclavian bypass and possibly involving her internal carotid artery.

Her first surgery is scheduled for July, and it’s no small thing. This is complex, risky, and life-saving. She’ll spend time in the ICU, at least a week in inpatient cardiac rehab (if insurance approves), and months of healing at home — unable to care for herself, needing round-the-clock support.

This isn’t your typical surgery. This is a “you’re one in a million” kind of case. And that’s exactly what she is.

Jenny is the helper. The healer. The barefoot Nana who sings lullabies to goats and grows herbs by the moon. She’s the woman who opens her home to lost souls and bonus kids, who stays up late with teething babies and early-rising roosters. She’s been a second mom to more people than I can count — including me. Since I was 16, she’s treated me like her own.

She’s the rock of our multigenerational family farm, where love grows like wildflowers and kids run barefoot chasing chickens. She’s always been the one holding it all together, no matter what life throws.

But now? Now she needs us.

We’re raising $15,000 to cover rehab, medical equipment (like a hospital bed, lift chair, shower bench), travel, and living costs while her husband takes unpaid time off to care for her. Every share, donation, or good vibe makes a difference. Truly.
