On January 14, 2026, the world lost a limitless soul in our mother and wife Jaylene Peterson. In her memory, we have created a nonprofit, Hoops4Hope as a way to raise awareness, support and funding for mental health and illness. This is an opportunity turn this recent tragedy; our families love of sport and specifically Ella's (Jaylene's daughter) love of basketball into support for mental health and those suffering from mental illness in our community. We know how important it is for people to feel supported, seen, and not alone. Through this fundraiser we are coming together as a family, a team, and community to provide support to those around us in need. Donations made in Jaylene's honor will benefit the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Colorado, continuing a legacy of compassion and care for others that Jaylene (Mom) held so close to her heart. If you wish to make a donation in Jaylene’s memory, please know it will help provide vital mental health support to others in need.
We know that Jaylene (Mom) will be with us as we cheer on the Conifer Little Lady Lobos through the rest of their "hoops" season. We also "hope" you share Jaylene's love for helping others and particularly those out there that may be fighting an invisible fight.
With gratitude,
The Peterson Family
Jack, Ella and Matt
Nami Colorado
The mission of NAMI Colorado is to build communities of recovery and hope by educating, supporting and advocating for individuals affected by mental illness and their families in Colorado.
Every contribution, big or small, makes a real impact. Even just a few dollars can help move this mission forward and reach those who need it most.
If you can’t donate right now, sharing this fundraiser is also incredibly helpful. Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. It means the world to me.
