Support Naira's Dream of Education in Bologna

Hello there,

Let me share the personal journey of a young girl who grew up in a modest apartment in a humble neighborhood in Yerevan, realized the true value of education and technology studying at institutions like Ayb School and the American University of Armenia and achieved the significant milestone of attending the University of Bologna, one of the world's oldest and most prestigious universities. Studying at a university of such significance, or even the dream of studying abroad, felt very distant. But with determination and the right guidance and support, I learned that dreams do come true.

My goal is to pursue a Master's in Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Management at Bologna Business School. This will bring me closer to realizing my dream of establishing a startup in the education and technology sector, leveraging the abundant academic and professional resources available to me with the ultimate mission of making quality education more accessible and personalized on a global scale.

I cannot overstate the significance of this opportunity in my life, and I've already made major financial commitments to make it a reality, and received a merit scholarship that partly covers my tuition. However, to continue and complete this educational journey successfully, I humbly seek financial assistance from my community, which is why I've initiated this campaign.

Why a master in Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Management?

I've chosen to pursue a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Management at Bologna Business School because it aligns with my passion for AI technologies, business and education. My journey has taken me from the world of data science to the dynamic role of a product manager, where I've seen the potential of artificial intelligence to lead to digital transformation. This Master’s program represents a lot more than just academic growth; it's about improving skills and finding the network that will boost my progress towards my vision of launching an EdTech startup that uses cutting-edge technologies to make quality education accessible.

Why Bologna University Business School?

The University of Bologna, the world's oldest university, stands as a symbol of enduring excellence, which makes it an ideal place for my educational journey. Our classrooms are reminiscent of museums, yet they are equipped with state-of-the-art technologies and modern teaching practices. Therefore, it becomes a perfect place for me to explore the intersection of best educational traditions with the latest technological advances.

Support with financial resources

Through hard work and frugality I had saved up money that cover my travel costs, some living expenses, and a part of the tuition fees throughout my studies in Bologna. Here is a short summary of the expenses that I will need to take care of during my Master’s studies:

Tuition fees - 14,800 EUR

Rental costs - 6000 EUR

Food, transportation, traveling costs and other expenses - 5000 EUR

I've been fortunate to receive a merit scholarship of 4,000 EUR. That alongside my savings enabled me to have the majority of my tuition expenses covered, however, I still need 5,000 EUR that would go towards the last installment of my tuition fees. With your help, I aim to bridge this gap and continue pursuing my dreams.

My academic background

One of the turning points in my life was getting accepted into Ayb High School, one of the leading educational institutions in Armenia. This experience made me realize the incredible impact of education, a value that I carry with me today. I then continued my studies at the American University of Armenia getting a Bachelor of Science in Data Science degree. I learned everything about the significance of data, the technologies that help get best out of it and its practical applications, gaining a profound understanding of this invaluable resource. Additionally, I contributed to the community by co-founding a student club for data science enthusiasts, "Data Warriors." I was fortunate to receive a full scholarship as a Global UGRAD exchange student, which allowed me to study in the United States in 2021. While my academic pursuits have been a top priority, my innate curiosity led me to explore various professional roles. It was in the dynamic tech industry where I discovered my passion for product management.

Alongside my academic journey, I've been lucky to earn scholarships and take part in programs like the "AI Literacy for Young People" with the Council of Europe, "Perspective Women in Tech 2022," and the European Forum Alpbach 2023. These experiences have deepened my knowledge in areas like youth leadership, AI, technology, and the latest industrial developments. They've solidified my commitment to making a meaningful impact in AI and innovation management.

My professional background

I started working when I was 17, as an academic consultant’s assistant at Ayb School. Exploring various professional opportunities, I did internships as a data scientist, then transitioned into the world of product management at an international EdTech startup Sololearn, later continuing my journey in other international companies. These roles pushed me to grow both personally and professionally, and made a huge contribution in figuring out what I want to pursue in life. They also helped me save money over the years, knowing I wanted to invest in my education - one of the best investments one can make.
