Hi, my name is Nahach Garay. I recently came home after serving time, and I’m currently living in a halfway house in Orlando, Florida, rebuilding my life from the ground up. I don’t have family support here, and I’m starting over with limited resources — no savings and a lot of responsibilities to handle all at once.

Coming home has been a blessing, but it hasn’t been easy. I’m doing everything I can to stay on the right path:

• Following all the rules at the halfway house

• Actively applying for jobs and showing up for interviews

• Getting my documents and credit re-established

• Staying focused on personal growth and accountability

Right now, I’m struggling with basic expenses like hygiene items, clothing, transportation, food, and my phone bill so I can keep applying to jobs and moving forward.

I’m not asking for a handout — I’m asking for a chance. A small push so I can stand on my own two feet, stay stable, and keep building instead of just surviving day to day. Every contribution, even $5, helps me cover essentials so I can stay focused on employment, responsibility, and long-term goals.

My long-term dream is to start a business that helps kids stay out of dangerous streets — a safe home center where they can receive guidance, support, opportunities, and a positive environment. I’ve seen firsthand how easily a young person can get lost, and I want to be part of the solution and give them a place to belong.
