I’m in a position where I need to ask for help, and I want to share my story honestly. A week ago, I began experiencing anxiety and depression while working two jobs every day, struggling to find time for myself and to sleep. I was doing counseling two days a week and grooming the other days, so I was working every day. I had to step away from grooming, at least temporarily, and my counseling job wasn’t providing enough referrals. I addressed the situation with my boss, but she couldn’t pay me more or provide additional referrals, so I started grooming more to make ends meet. I was working 10-11 hours a day, five days a week, and the stress brought me to the verge of psychosis on the 25th.
Today, I spoke with my boss again, and she said I had to market myself and that she couldn’t pay me more. This was at a private practice, and I was an employee, not an independent contractor. Now, I find myself in a very tough spot. I am applying at places and hoping to find something soon, but I’m not sure when I’ll be working again. That’s why I started this GoFundMe—to ask for help during this difficult time.
The funds raised will help cover my living expenses while I search for new work and focus on my recovery. It’s ok to ask for help; sometimes we need support and words of encouragement. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for any help you can give.
