In the early morning hours of Monday, May 26, 2025, Nadine’s life was changed in an instant. Around 3 a.m., while crossing legally at the crosswalk in front of Hockeytown Café on her e-bike, she was struck by a drunk driver. The driver was intoxicated, and Nadine had the right of way.
She was hit hard and thrown from her bike, suffering devastating injuries. Her leg was shattered, requiring two surgeries just to set the bone. She also suffered a dislocated shoulder, a large gash above her eye, two black eyes, and countless cuts and bruises. Her body is broken, but her spirit — the same one that’s lifted so many of us through our darkest moments — remains unshaken.
Many of you know Nadine not just as a friend, but as a force of nature. Over the years, she’s been a caretaker, a protector, and a giver — always showing up for others. Whether it was watching your kids, handing out blankets to the homeless in the dead of winter, offering a warm hug and a listening ear, or just being there when nobody else was… Nadine gave hope.
Now, she needs us.
Nadine is currently out of work. She’s also the caregiver for her mother, who is battling illness and awaiting a lung transplant. With no income, and a mountain of medical bills ahead, Nadine is facing the toughest fight of her life.
If Nadine has ever touched your life, now is the time to give a little of that love back. Even $5 or $10 from each person who knows her could make a massive difference. She’s a fighter, and she will come back from this — but she can’t do it alone.
Please donate if you can, share this with your friends, and help us remind Nadine that the same hope she’s always given… still surrounds her now.
Thank you for standing by her.
