Support Nadege's Pancreatic Cancer Treatment
Donation protected
Our beloved Nadege has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. As she undergoes chemotherapy and needed medical procedures, she is showing incredible strength and bravery. Rod is doing everything within his power to ensure his wife gets the best care possible. He pushed hard to secure a really great medical team. Needless to say this is all incredibly difficult and sad for our entire family. Even though they have health insurance, there are massive out of pocket expenses, high deductibles, and basic resources and services that add up quickly. We are humbly asking — if you’re able to help, we’d deeply appreciate your support.
**Nadege's Biography**
Born and raised in France, Nadege began her artistic journey in Paris, where she moved as a teenager and graduated as a painter from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts. While supporting herself through freelance work in design and fashion as a stylist, she lived and worked between Paris and Rome, where a chance encounter with renowned director Federico Fellini led her to appear in his film *Casanova*. Though initially reluctant, the experience of working with Fellini became a life-changing moment, offering a rare insight into the pursuit of creative vision driven by passion, fantasy, and generosity.
Back in Paris, Nadege continued to develop her painting practice and was awarded the Villa Medici prize, which brought her to Berlin. A later residency at Art OMI in New York introduced her to her future husband, Rod Baer, and prompted a move to Los Angeles. Since then, her work has been featured in galleries and museums across Europe and the U.S.
Nadege’s art explores two parallel threads—abstract and figurative—each informing and shaping the other. Her intricate works on paper and canvas often use obsessive hatching techniques and layered color to create depth and texture. Drawing inspiration from personal photographs and news images, her subjects span portraits to landscapes marked by chaos, collapse, or transformation. Her compositions explore the tension between loss and beauty, revealing what she calls “a promise of resurrection” through shifts in perception.
Now based in LA, Nadege thrives in the city’s dynamic, boundary-pushing art scene. She continues to exhibit locally and internationally. Her work can also be viewed online via Saatchi Art, her personal website, and IG @venezianaparisla
