My name is Lisa Vanderwerker. My husband, Frank Lippolis, and I are starting this GoFundMe for our friend,“Nacho” Corona. Nacho, now 31 years of age, was born with muscular dystrophy and has never walked, but that has never stopped him from living life to the fullest.
He lives alone in a studio apartment in Daytona Beach and uses a power wheelchair to get around. Though he has limited use of just one hand and relies on help in the mornings and evenings for basic needs, Nacho is far from isolated. He loves to take daily strolls, visit with neighbors, and make friends wherever he goes. His spirit is vibrant, and his positivity is contagious.
The challenge? Nacho’s current wheelchair weighs over 550 pounds, making it impossible to transport. While he’s able to enjoy his immediate surroundings, he’s unable to go on outings that require a vehicle—limiting his ability to explore beyond his neighborhood.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of The Beth Reale Foundation and Captain Al, Nacho has been offered the chance to go on a boat trip—something he’s always dreamed of. The only thing holding him back is transportation. If we can get him a foldable, portable power wheelchair, we can get him to the dock and out on the water.
Please consider donating or sharing this campaign to help make Nacho’s dream a reality. Every contribution brings us one step closer to giving him the freedom and joy he deserves.
With gratitude,
Frank Lippolis
