Aloha from Luke and Chauntelle Kanahele and our little Ohana!

As everyone has been finding out our small town of Naalehu in Ka’u Hawaii has been majorly affected by hurricane Lala. Loss of power, water, cell service for days has made daily life very difficult... Naalehu is also where our little ohana have been running our coffee shop, Ka Lae Coffee, for the past 6 years as our main livelihood.

Since the hurricane, a landslide that came down one of Naalehu's main road has caused horrible destruction to near by business, including our coffee shop.

We are currently raising funds to support our family as we’ve lost our main source of income and figure out what’s next. We don’t know yet if we still will be able to continue our coffee shop in the building it currently in so there is a lot of unknowns.

We’ve loved being able to be a place that our community can come, hang out, spend time with family, meet new friends, so we’re really praying that we can continue that in our town!
