My name is Myrtis, and I am reaching out for support during an incredibly difficult time. After surviving a heart transplant, I was recently diagnosed with kidney failure and post lymphoma disease. These new health challenges have placed a heavy burden on both me and my husband. When I first received the call to come to the hospital, I couldn’t go because we simply didn’t have the funds for the trip. Now, every doctor’s appointment and treatment means a 2 1/2 hour drive, and I have to schedule them around my payday just to afford gas. I’ve also run out of PTO at work, so every day I miss for treatment is another financial setback.
My husband has been waiting for his disability to be approved for over two years, but so far, we’ve only faced denials and delays. The financial strain has made it impossible to keep up with rent and other bills, as much of our money goes toward travel and medical expenses. We’re doing everything we can to stay afloat, but the challenges keep piling up.
Donations to this fundraiser will go directly toward travel costs for my appointments, hotel stays for my husband if needed, outstanding medical bills, rent, and utilities. Any help or support you can offer would mean the world to us and help us get through this incredibly tough time. Thank you for reading our story, and God Bless!
