My name is Myrriha Roush. I became pregnant in early April and my entire pregnancy has been rough. I spent days dealing with extreme morning sickness that was managed with medication, and during my pregnancy, I developed prenatal hypertension. Despite the medical issues surrounding my pregnancy, we were healthy, and the baby was growing great. I was working and saving money for maternity leave, but complications from the high blood pressure had me going in and out of the hospital, which forced us to break into the maternity leave money.

Then, around 5:30 AM on November 12th, 2025, I woke up in severe pain. By 7:30 AM, my husband Corey was taking me to the hospital to get checked out. Four hours later, I was being transferred to another hospital that was better suited for caring for babies born before 36 weeks when the doctors determined that not only was I having severe pre-eclampsia symptoms, but my gallbladder had developed gallstones.

Our daughter Octavia was born that afternoon weighing 5 pounds 4 ounces at 35 weeks and is currently in NICU with an NG tube. She's doing well, but her early birth has made it so I'm unable to rebuild our savings, and Corey is already working full-time in addition to making sure that we're okay and taking care of our two dogs.
