Support Mylia's Surgery and Healing Journey

On December 21, 2024 Mylia was at a bonfire with family when she was accidentally burned on both her lower extremities. She was immediately brought to HCA in Plant City where she was assessed and transferred by ambulance to Tampa Generals Pediatric Burn Unit. Once we arrived at TGH Mylia was reassessed and it was confirmed to be 2nd degree burns on the right leg and 3rd degree burns on the left leg. Her wounds were debrided, she was admitted to the hospital, and scheduled for surgery on Monday the 22nd. She was taken for surgery at 6am on Monday, once in surgery the wounds were looked at and her left ankle was determined to be down to the fat tissues. Both of her little legs have been placed in braces to maintain the flexibility of her legs. She is scheduled to have a skin grafting preformed on Thursday using skin cell technology. She will remain in the hospital for 5-7 days after surgery for recovery and continued physical therapy and then moved to a day hospital where they will sedate her, redress her wounds, and assess them at that time to decide when we will be able to be discharged from the hospital. Mylia is a very strong little girl and she will overcome these obstacles placed in front of her.

She is determined to be out walking and running around and being the energetic little girl we all have known to love and cherish.

while Mylia is recovering from surgery, Mom is missing work. Mom is the sole income of their household.
