I am Mykah, a mother of 4 - 3 boys, 1 girl. Exactly 2 weeks ago, I experienced the worse weekend of my life. Door dashing as my source of income, I was in a horrific car accident involving a head on collision by a 21-year-old drunk driver and his friends. Not only did the incident cause me to give birth to baby Nylah 7 weeks early, it also left me with a servere concussion and a fractured spine. There are 3 fractured bones in my spine, causing me to wear a neck/back brace for at least 3 months. Baby Nylah was delivered via emergency c-section pretty immediately, and I was put under anesthesia for the procedure. Being put to sleep for the delivery of my newborn, plus the anesthesia added tremendous trauma to my already brain injury. At that point in time, I did not know if either of us would survive but I prayed myself to sleep. Meanwhile, my partner and 3 boys were worried to death but they stayed by my side as permitted and kept the faith. My sons are 7, 5, and 3. My 5-year-old has mild Autism, and was initially under the impression that his mom was deceased. So, this has been a work in progressive to get everyone back to our normal mental stability. Today, baby Nylah is still in the NICU. At this time, she is in progressive care. I was released from the hospital last Wednesday, but encouraged to stay longer considering many of the every day things I cannot perform on my own like cooking, eating and bathing. Not to mention, my source of income is temporary unavailable to me because I am physically unable to drive. Mentally, I am traumatized and it will take some time to get back on the road even once I am cleared from wearing the neck/back brace. I am asking anyone with desire to help in their heart to contribute to the funds of family bills for the next 3 months. I am so grateful to be alive, and very grateful to be staying at the Ronald McDonald house until baby Nylah is released from the hospital. I have many doctors appointments coming up, and baby Nylah will have more to add once she is home. This means help with transportation will become another bill. God bless
