On July 22, our brave, beautiful daughter Mya will undergo a life-saving kidney transplant. She’ll be just 13 years old, and while she’s faced more than any child should, this surgery offers her a precious chance at a healthier future.
In March of last year, Mya was diagnosed with bilateral renal hypoplasia — a condition where both of her kidneys are underdeveloped. Since then, our world has changed completely. We’ve watched her navigate endless doctor visits, blood tests, medications, and physical limitations, all while trying to just be a kid. Her strength through it all has been nothing short of inspiring.
Now, after months of waiting and preparation, the time has come. The transplant is a blessing — but it’s only the beginning. After the surgery, Mya will need intensive aftercare, including daily medications to prevent rejection, frequent follow-ups, and close monitoring of her recovery. We’ll be by her side every step of the way — but we can’t do it alone.
We’re humbly asking for your support.
Your donation will go directly toward:
• The life-sustaining medications Mya will need long-term
• Travel and lodging expenses for hospital care
• Lost income while we take time off work to care for her
• Any unforeseen costs tied to her recovery and care
If you’re unable to give, please consider sharing this page or keeping Mya in your thoughts and prayers. Your support — in any form — means more than words can express.
Thank you for loving Mya with us, and for giving her the gift of healing and hope.
With love and deep gratitude,
Jen & Doug
