Hello, my name is Charlotte. I am starting this GoFundMe to support two amazing people facing an extremely challenging time, Cameron and Lila Saito.

Cameron is a firefighter with Ontario Fire & Rescue. He and his wife Lila are both incredibly hard-working. They have 3 incredible children: Kalani, Koa, and Maiya. They recently bought their first home together and have been enjoying this new chapter of life.

Maiya has dealt with complex medical issues after being born with VSD (Ventricular Septal Defect), aka a hole in her heart. Doctors hoped that the hole would resolve itself, but unfortunately, that has not been the case. Maiya's heart is now enlarged on the left side, requiring open-heart surgery to correct it to prevent further enlargement and, in the worst case, heart failure.

As you can probably imagine, this is not easy for Cam and Lila. They are scared and just trying to remain positive and optimistic for a good outcome. They will be traveling to Salt Lake City on May 10th and will be there at least until May 23rd, as long as there are no complications. Unfortunately, there is currently a waitlist for the Ronald McDonald House. It is unlikely that a spot will be available for their stay.

I know Cam and Lila don't like to ask for help, but I also know how big of a challenge physically and financially this is going to be for them. I hope that together, we can raise some funds to help alleviate some of the financial stress, allowing them to focus all their energy on sweet Maiya as she goes through this scary time.
