Support Mya Lewis' Study Abroad in Guatemala

Hi everyone, my name is Mya Lewis and I’m a junior nursing student at Temple University. I was recently given an incredible chance to study abroad in Guatemala, where I’ll be learning about health psychology, global health, and climate change

What makes this so special is that it’s not just classes. I’ll actually get to be hands-on while I’m there. This program will take my education beyond the classroom by giving me real-world, hands-on experience in international health and service learning.

While abroad, I’ll be involved in:

• Working with local organizations on global health projects

• Taking Spanish classes to improve my ability to communicate with patients

• Experiencing cultural traditions like cooking, weaving, dance, and medicinal gardening

• Learning about environmental health through farm visits and climate-related activities

• Living with a host family to better understand the Guatemalan community and way of life
