This fall I will be departing to take part in missionary work with YWAM. I'll be capturing stories with my camera of humanitarian aid, community development, and discipleship. Documenting real stories is important because it allows individuals to slow down, reflect, and engage with complex issues around the world. Through a lens you are able to see the struggles of communities that are often forgotten, and amplify the voices of those who are working to make a difference. Telling real stories matter and inspire others to take action.
In YWAM’s Discipleship Training School, I’ll be getting equipped as an artist and storyteller to tell stories that need to be told.
I’ll be joining YWAM’s DTS program, Kingdom Creatives, where I’ll be pressing deeper, receiving discipleship, and fulfilling my mission to document real world events. These funds will help me cover tuition, travel, and living expenses. I would be so grateful for your support as I step into this calling. Any amount helps, and your encouragement means the world to me as I pursue this mission.
YWAM is a massive international, volunteer-run organization that focuses on humanitarian aid, community development, and training young people. While it is rooted in Christian values, the main day-to-day focus is on volunteering, traveling to developing areas, and providing support like building houses, teaching, or providing medical help.
It is a six-month program. The first half is a 'lecture phase' where I’ll be living in a community and learning about leadership and cross-cultural communication. The second half is a 'field phase' where we go to [Country] to work on local aid projects.
