Dear friends, family, and compassionate strangers,

We are reaching out to you with heavy hearts and hopeful spirits. My wife’s mother has recently been diagnosed with colon and ovarian cancer, and the journey ahead is overwhelming and unknown. She has undergone major surgeries, including the removal of half her colon and a complete hysterectomy, and now faces 6-12 months of intensive chemotherapy. This diagnosis came unexpectedly during preparations for double knee replacement surgery, which has now been delayed as we prioritize her cancer treatment. While she undergoes chemotherapy, she will maintain an osteomy bag and navigate the difficulties that comes with it and will need further abdominal reconstruction after cancer treatment concludes in 12 months.

For several years, her mobility has been severely limited, affecting her ability to maintain her home and complete necessary improvements and repairs. With the growing medical bills, these home projects have been postponed once again. Our goal was to address these improvements after her knee replacements, but without help, they will remain incomplete. The home repairs and improvements are extensive, including urgent updates to the kitchen, flooring, plumbing, appliance repairs, and pest control. Additionally, two of her four beloved cats have recently become very ill, and she has been unable to afford veterinary care to diagnose and treat them, adding to the emotional burden.

This situation is made worse by the loss of her husband two years ago, who was a significant contributor to their household income. As she navigates this challenging time, the financial responsibility falls solely on her shoulders, as well as caring for her one of her two daughters, who currently lives with her. The medical bills from surgeries and treatments are overwhelming, and insurance covers only a fraction of the costs. With her ability to work severely impacted, the future feels uncertain and frightening.

We are humbly asking for your support to help alleviate the financial strain during this difficult time. Your generous donations will go towards the extensive medical bills, essential home improvements and repairs, household utilities, and on-going medical supplies, ensuring her home remains a sterile, safe and comfortable environment to nurture her recovery.
