Hi! I’m Michael and here is story of my wife Kate.
The story of dreaming big but slow:)
From Kate behalf:
Eleven years ago, I stumbled upon a movie called Desert Runners, about one of the toughest ultra races in the world—a grueling challenge through deserts that seemed impossible for someone like me. At the time, I wasn’t a runner at all. I could barely imagine completing 5 kilometers, let alone hundreds in extreme conditions.
I’m just regular human, not an athlete, not someone who dreamed that big.
I started running—just 2 or 3 kilometers at first. It was hard, and I often thought I’d never make it. Fast forward, more years passed, more kilometers in, some races and even some marathons completed. Still not an athlete, barely a fit lady now:)
Years passed but that DREAM of running an ultra race like the ones in the movie stayed with me. It felt too big, too far away. For years, I didn’t dare to believe it was possible.
Now, I’m ready to go after the dream I’ve carried for over a decade. It took lots of courage and lots of fears, lots of doubt and lots of bravity.
This year, I’m aiming to complete a 250-kilometer ultra race in Greece—a CHALLENGE that terrifies and excites me in equal measure.
I’m not a professional athlete. I’m not superhuman. I’m just a woman who DARED to believe that we’re all stronger than we think. This journey is about proving that ordinary people can achieve extraordinary things, and I hope to INSPIRE others to follow their own wildest dreams.
Your SUPPORT —big or small— MEANS THE WORLD to me. It keeps me moving forward, step by step, toward the impossible dream I once thought I’d never reach. Thank you for being part of my journey!
With regards!
Ekaterina Theisen
