Support My Volunteer Teaching Trip to Nepal
Donation protected
Hello, wonderful family, friends and supporters,
I am thrilled to tell you that I am going on a trip to Nepal in July 2024 with my school, and I need your help to make it possible!
This trip is a unique opportunity for me to learn, grow, and make a positive impact in the world. I will be spending two weeks in Nepal, where I will experience the culture, nature, and history of this amazing country.
During the trip, I will be volunteering at is HVP Balkumari, a school in Kathmandu that is part of a charity called HVP Nepal. HVP Nepal supports schools and community projects in Nepal based on Human Values Philosophy, which aims to provide quality education, social service, and personal development to the children and people of Nepal, especially those who are marginalized and disadvantaged.
Some of the donations from this expedition will go towards building a new earthquake-proof school building for HVP Balkumari, which was badly damaged by the 2015 earthquake. The rest of the donations will go towards subsidizing the fees for students who cannot afford to pay, and to cover the costs of accommodation, food, uniform, and books for some students who live in the Children’s Peace Home, a shelter for orphaned and abandoned children.
By donating to this cause, you will be helping to improve the education and lives of these children, and to support the amazing work of HVP Nepal. https://www.hvpnepal-uk.org/
I need your help to raise at target of £4000 for HVP Balkumari. I am committed to sharing my experiences and photos of my time in Nepal with you.
I’m inspired by my parents, I have always tried to live by the values of hard work, giving back, kindness, and gratitude, and I want to share them with the children I will meet and teach in Nepal. I also want to learn from them, and see how they find joy and resilience in their lives.
The first week of the trip will be a trekking adventure in the Langtang Valley, one of the most scenic regions in Nepal. I will be walking through forests, mountains, and waterfalls, and reaching the summit of either Kyanjin Ri or Tserko Ri, two of the highest peaks in the valley. I will also visit a monastery and a cheese factory, and stay in simple but comfortable teahouses or guesthouses along the way.
The second week of the trip I will be teaching English, Maths, and Science to children aged 10-14, and helping them with their schoolwork and homework at HVP Balkumari. This will give me an opportunity to interact with the staff and students, and learn more about their lives and aspirations.
I am deeply grateful for your generosity.
